It is the hope of MCA that these undergraduates when posted to schools in the future will help contribute to cricket development at their respective schools.

Malaysian Cricket Association, who has signed an MOU with the Universiti Perguruan Sultan Idris with regards to cricket development and education conducted a 3 days  Level 1 Umpiring Course for a group of 26 Undergraduates from the Friday 18th  till  Sunday 20th , December 2015.

Amongst them was a teacher from a primary school in the nearby area and an officer from the University who is also involved in cricket development. The course was held at the Universiti Campus in Tanjung Malaim, Perak.

The participants consisting of both men and women were put through theory lessons on the Laws of the Cricket with a lot and question and answer sessions for them to better understand and apply them when they officiate matches in the future.

All of them also did the practical session to familiarize them with the field craft required on an umpire. They also sat for a written exam on the final day. Successful candidates will be issued an MCA Level Umpiring Accreditation. The undergraduates who are mostly students undergoing sports science courses will mostly be future teachers. It is the hope of MCA that these undergraduates when posted to schools in the future will help contribute to cricket development at their respective schools.
